• Yesterday's Storm

  
  We had a hell of a storm here yesterday evening and only just had our power restored about an hour ago.  I never even saw it coming.  I was at my sister's house with her and my nephew, knowing there would be storms but thinking they'd come later in the evening.  I was wrong.  Suddenly, everything went crazy.  The wind was blowing so hard that the gusts could actually be seen blowing through the pouring rain and through the trees that were all bent over.  My sis thought a tornado was coming, and I later found out we did have a warning for here at the time it all happened.  Apparently one did touch down, but it thankfully missed our little area here.  Still, there were tree branches hanging over the roads in the power lines.  Damage was done to some homes.  My sister came home from work today talking about a family who tried desperately to let their cat in the house which was scratching on the door frantically, but because the winds were so strong, the door wouldn't budge.  They actually watched the cat get lifted up and blown away.  That breaks my heart.  They still haven't been able to locate the kitty.  :(

  Anyway, thank goodness it's over and the lights are back on.
