  • E cig update, day two.

I'm calling it day two because I ran out of stuff on the second day and had to wait for my juice to come in, so needless to say, I bought a pack of smokes for my wait.  Before, I hadn't really smoked.  I maybe smoked three or four cigarettes till I got the hang of the e cigs, but after that, I was perfectly content using them in place of analogue smokes.  It didn't bother me in the least to not be smoking a real one.  :)  Also on day one, I had a big problem with the taste.  The cartridges that came with my Joye 510 were supposed to be tobacco flavor, but believe me, there's no resemblance to tobacco whatsoever.  They hardly have a taste and what little they do isn't good.  It isn't bad, but definitely not worth buying in my opinion.

Today, my hickory apple smoke and cappuccino refill juice came in, along with my Safe Cig starter kit pro.  Both the apple and cappuccino are okay.  I use them in the Joye 510 which is easily refillable, but will want to experiment with some other flavors.  The Safe Cig is really good!  I'm not sure if it's better than the 510, but the menthol cartomizers are amazing!!  To me, they taste just like a Marlboro Smooth, which was my favorite menthol cigarette!  Most menthol cigs were too bitter for me.  Smooths were awesome, and now, I feel like I can smoke them without all the smoke, tar, etc!  I can't say how the battery life is on The Safe Cig, but I've been using it and my 510 all throughout the day and still have not charged The Safe Cig.  I did charge the 510's when I got the refill stuff because I wanted them fully charged to get started again.  The Safe Cig probably doesn't produce as much vapor as the 510, but that isn't a big issue.  It produces enough, and the hits are strong!  I actually have to take small hits so that I can handle it!  Thank goodness, I ordered an extra box of menthol cartomizers to go with it, and now that I know I love that flavor so much, I will order some menthol juice for the 510 and see how that goes.  I'm interested to see how long one cartomizer for The Safe Cig will last.  The prefilled cartridges that came with my 510 didn't seem to last very long.  Besides, with little taste, it was hard to know when they were empty.  It should be easier now that I can taste the stuff!

Anyway, not smoking will be a breeze using these things.  Of course, I'm still getting nicotine which isn't great, but even if I puff on these things for the rest of my life, it's far better than smoking an actual cigarette and filling my lungs with smoke, tar, and other chemicals.  This is a good thing.  :)

I'm happy it's working out so well for you thus far and hope that it continues to go favorably.

I've seen the ads and web write-ups for these e-cigs, and it seems really interesting.  I'd wondered if a smoker really felt they could substitute real cigarettes, and though you seem to have a few glitches with them, it seems like they're okay overall.  Do you think they'll become widely used?

I've been curious about these. I'm not a smoker myself, but have lots of friends who are.

@striemmy - Thanks.  Yep, all is good.  :)

@bananaleaf_soapbox - I'm not sure, but I don't see why not.  I mean, they can be really strong so that you really feel it as you inhale, just like a cigarette.  It's just a matter of getting a good one and finding the flavor you like best.  I'm still not smoking, just using the e cig and am perfectly content with it.  It's nice to be able to take a puff or two when visiting someone who doesn't smoke, or however many I want.  Now that I've gotten my refill cartridges filled completely with the flavors I have (I suppose some of the tobacco flavor was left over in them), they're actually quite good.  I've been out all day today, and have only had one battery die.  So far, so good!

@GodlessLiberal - They're great!  Definitely recommend them!  The Joye 510 is one you can't go wrong with.

@Nitzchiya - Now I just need to find one of these for cannabis.

  • Nitzchiya

@GodlessLiberal - I know, right?  I was thinking hash oil would probably work wonderfully in them.  :)

  • GodlessLiberal

@Nitzchiya - Yeah, hard to find anything but straight up weed here in Minnesota, and most of that is Mexican ditch weed unless you know somebody. I gotta make it out to Cali so I can experiment with some decent stuff like hemp oil. If you give that a try, let me know how it works out.

  • Nitzchiya

@GodlessLiberal - Will do!  Yeah, the mexican ditch (or dirt as we call it) weed is pretty sucky.  Hash oil can be made, but who wants to go through that whole process and use flammable crap?  Makes me think of people cooking meth haha.  I did read of one method that sounded pretty easy, but I'd have to look it up again--a way weed could maybe be smoked through these things.  I've been making firecrackers lately when I do get stoned, and those are amazing!  They're far better than smoking because it lasts so much longer and is more intense.

We have some pretty decent smoke here in KY, but lately, everyone is turning to pills and meth and it makes it hard for us stoners to get a bag of sunshine.  :p  Going to Cali and testing some of what they have to offer would rock!  I hear they put weed in just about anything out there.  Must be nice.  :)

@Nitzchiya - The most I experiment is smoking it different ways (bowls, bongs, blunts, joints, and recently my homemade vaporizer), and when I get the ditch weed I've been experimenting with ways to make edibles. Made a really shitty thick tea that tasted awful but worked wonders. Otherwise it's brownies.

  • Nitzchiya

@GodlessLiberal - Hmm how'd you make the tea?  Try firecrackers sometime.  I had a recipe on here somewhere, but it's easy to find.  Natural peanut butter and crackers.  I waited about an hour for them to kick in and almost had some more even though the recipe warned me not to lol.  Sure enough, they kicked in and I thought...omfg!  I honestly didn't think it would ever go away haha.  I ended up laying down and passing out.

I'd like to get a vaporizer.  They're kinda pricey, but if they'd actually be better health wise, it'd be totally worth it.  I haven't smoked in a while because I got to the point of coughing so hard I thought I would fall over and die every time I smoked lol, so I've been debating on whether or not to try vaping it.  I used maybe the equivalent of two J's when I made my firecrackers, which was probably too much, but I was afraid to use less having never tried it before.  Anyway, I'm all about learning ways to cook with it.  I have become so scared of smoking that it isn't even right ha.  I might try brownies sometime.  :)

@Nitzchiya - My buddy made the vaporizer for me for about $8 in parts. I know you can get a pretty shitty one for maybe $30 at head shops around here.

I'll check out the firecracker recipe next time I'm feeling ambitious. Thanks for the tip.

As for the tea, my (at the time) girlfriend had a recipe, involved something with oil to give the THC something to dissolve into. I'm no expert, I'd check the rest of the internet.

Sounds like you have hit upon the solution.
